Thacyana Teixeira de Carvalho, PhD, received her MSc and PhD in Experimental Pathology from the State University of Londrina, Brazil where she studied the peripheral and spinal mechanisms involved in models of pain, with a period as a visiting graduate student during her PhD in the Arditi group where she began her studies on the role of IL-33 in the murine model of Kawasaki Disease. As a postdoc, she investigated the role of Specialized Pro-Resolving Mediators in murine models of arthritis at the State University of Londrina. Carvalho rejoined Dr. Noval Rivas’ Lab as a postdoc in July 2021, investigating the role of neutrophils, eosinophils, and IL-33/ST2 axis in LCWE-induced Kawasaki Disease.
